Sath’s experience of over 25 years in the high
tech industry includes 15 years in offshoring -- initially
as a Fortune 500 corporation executive leading offshoring,
then as startup CEO utilizing offshore resources,
now as author and consultant in offshoring. He is
well connected in the Indian IT industry and travels
frequently to stay abreast of changes.
Using offshoring, he increased earnings per share
(EPS) by 10% and reduced time to market at a large
computer company. He helped improve productivity of
offshore operations by 10% at a Fortune 1000 company
by improving offshore processes. He has helped choose
right vendors from a list of 100s and negotiate win-win
contracts that has enabled his clients achieve savings
in the millions. He has advised clients on the right
business models, which has increased operational efficiencies
and time to market.
He is well versed in establishing the right offshoring
strategies and overseeing their execution, assessing
and improving the true business value of offshoring,
offshore business models, auditing and improving offshore
operations, establishing and maintaining strong processes
between domestic and offshore activities, offshore
governance, vendor identification and evaluation.
Prior to GDC, he held executive and management positions
at HP/Tandem Computers – an organization with
$2 billion in revenues. There, he pioneered the concept
of leveraging offshore resources for strategic advantage.
He established and led a worldwide organization of
development and technical support personnel working
on mission critical applications. This organization
improved cost structure, time-to-market and earnings
per share. This initiative succeeded despite many
challenges. Processes and organization developed under
his leadership are still successfully at work after
10 years and two acquisitions. Subsequent to HP/Tandem,
he was founder and CEO of 24by7 Corporation, a professional
services firm, which leveraged offshore resources.
In addition to his roles in offshoring, he has provided
leadership to product development, support and IT
organizations.
Based on his extensive experience and industry research
Sath has authored a book “Offshore Development
& Technical Support – Proven Strategies
and Tactics for Success”, a practical guide
to successfully launch and manage offshore initiatives.
In addition to this book, he has published several
articles on offshoring. Sath is widely quoted in the
press -- InfoWorld, CIO, Software Business, Workforce
and Economic Times (India) to name a few.
Sath is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic and State
University. He holds M.S. in Engineering and MBA degrees.
